June: the love menu mail club

June has already been such a big month for me.

My partner and I have a tradition of organising surprise birthday parties for one another, so I’m currently in the process of that (no spoilers for now).

We also celebrate every Friday 13th as an anniversary, and this year there’s only one: June. We’re going on a little trip to copenhagen, and I’ve been organising more surprises, meals, and things to do.

For the love menu then, I knew I wanted something that is a really special meal to us - this month’s love menu recipe is a salad that we eat every week, something that has evolved with various dietary requirements we’ve been through, tastes, adn experiments.

The leftovers work great in a wrap: something inspired by a falafel place we used to go to when walking around Brighton. It reminds me of summer, of being in the sun, in such a lovely city, and laughing with James.

June’s print is - not only of my favourite food, but it’s the first painting that I completed in our new home: Edinburgh. I love the cartoonish style, the perspective (imagining leaning over a tub of tomatoes at the market).

I’ve also been so incredibly lucky to have had so much support for my art from the people around me. June has been my second month running the love menu mail club, and I’ve had 4 additional commissions. I’m so excited for what comes next :)
